I wanted to fit the gauges in the dash-top pod where the CD/radio head unit was originally fitted – like in the Fensport AE111 Corolla.
To connect it to the main Corolla wiring loom the head unit has a short wired adaptor which had to be extended. I went to Moving Sounds in Newport who had fitted the Hi-Fi in my previous Corolla GTi. They very kindly extended the adaptor wiring for me at no cost as I had been such a good customer in the past – that’s the kind of service I like! The original bracket that had been used to fix the lidded box was used to fix the head unit and I purchased a "pocket" to fill the rest of the double DIN sized hole. With that done I could start work on installing the gauges.
