September 2003

The ally cam covers  and the intercooler pipes needed a bit of work to bring them to life so I contacted Freeline Electroplating in Cardiff.  Paul Nash talked to me about what I wanted done and said that the cam covers would be ok to chrome plate but that the stainless steel pipe work would be better polished as the plating can sometimes come off stainless steel.  I took his advice and Kevin loaned me a spare pair of cam covers for me to use while mine were being plated.  When I picked up the chromed cam covers I removed the intercooler pipes and they were polished for me while I waited - now that's what I call service.

I had the TTE WRC front bumper fitted by Nationwide Crash Repair Centre (Cardiff).  I got the bumper from a guy who came up to me at JAE 2003 (Japanese Auto Extravaganza) at Billing Aquadrome near Northampton.  He was looking at my car (which was on the Fensport pitch) and asked if I was interested in a used bumper.  He gave me his mobile number and I phoned him a couple of weeks later and picked it up for about a third of the new price.  Nationwide tidied up the scratches and marks on it, painted and fitted it.  This is pretty as well

Then I managed to kerb it - my own fault - so it had to go back for a bit of loving care and attention.  Now it's as good as new again
